The trail started upwards, ahead was strewn with boulders enough to hide an army, was he stupid, should he dismount and walk, his head full of questions, his horse moving to the left, saved his life, the slug gently caressed a line under his right arm across his ribs, as the horse turned, followed the crack of the rifle, digging both heels, his horse leapt forward, taking him behind a rock strategically placed for him to hide behind, just what he needed, his left hand investigating the furrow inside his shirt, hardly touched the skin, 'lucky or what' he thought and ruffled the mane between his horses ears, 'thanks old friend, I owe you one'.

About the Book
In the early 1900 with all the new inventions arriving into the West; a local sheriff, has a life changing promotion. The Governor of Nevada, decides that law enforcement within the USA is inadiquate, bringing it to the attention of the senate, causes an out cry from some… who's allegiances were to the existing force, of Marshall's. Going ahead with his plan to create a new force, that had more roving powers, eventually brings conflict between the two factions.
About the Author
With Doctors orders to quit smoking or die within a year, Ken took up writing to take his mind off the dreaded Nicotine, he applied himself so deeply that it led him down a new road to health. Writing this complex novel with many characters and diverse adventures, gave him a new will and now Five years on is still writing.
