Dr. Lucas, we saw something on the Pap test, we are sure it is a rare form of cancer called primary peritoneal cancer. I was devastated. I had the hardest task of my life, I had to tell my wife that she had cancer.Sue came home from work and could see the tears in my eyes and said you got the results. I said yes my love. I sat her down on the couch hugged her and cried, I must have kissed her at least ten times and Sue being as strong of a person as she was said Tommy, she called me Tommy from time to time. Until I met her only my mother called me Tommy. Try and calm down and tell me the results. Sue you have ovarian cancer, she was silent. She looked at me and said now what, Sue was always a strong person. I said we need to decide on a cancer center and get them the Pap smear ASAP. We need an appointment. Sue said to me well I trust you and where ever you want to take me is fine. Sue than said now calm down remember what you said to me before we will beat this. I said Sue I am sorry I am acting like a scared rabbit, you know how much I love you and cannot accept the possibility that you could die. Sue just looked at me and said we can beat this, Sue's strength made me feel a little better and I said you’re right we can beat this.

Sue had some of the best oncology physicians and of course Tom by her side 24/7. In fact Tom came up with a cocktail made from green tea, varoius fruits and vegetables all rich in anti-oxidants and actually helped his wife live six weeks longer. This story is written in laymans terms. This story is about managing cancer, never giving up,and loving the one you love.until the very end.
