Stumbling Over A Quarter To Pick Up A Penny

In the Bible in Exodus 10:2, the Lord told Moses that He gave the Children of Israel the wonderful stories about how He hardened Pharaoh’s heart and then delivered them from Pharaoh’s wrath so that they could tell those stories to their children to make them know and love Him and identify His works. Likewise, the stories in this book are about the experiences that God gave me when I had hardened my heart and turned my back on Him. I’m sure that He wants me to use them to pass the wisdom contained in them on to you, my children, my grandchildren and future generations so that we all can love Him and identify His work in our lives. Just as the Children of Israel’s stories are not just stories about them, my stories are not just about me; they are about God and the lessons that He wants to use them to teach.

The stories in this book are built around a recent awareness that God gave me of how to unlock the understanding of life’s Six Spiritual Periods: Probation, Preparation, Conquest, Power, Decline and Servitude. It is an understanding that I use everyday to capture and maintain the stability of God’s Power in my life and the lives of those around me. In the chapters of this book, I’ll explain to you what life’s Six Spiritual Periods are and give you simple tools to use to identify the period that you are in so that you too can unlock a world of extraordinary achievement. Together we’ll look and see what scripture and other bits of wisdom are tied to each period that you can internalize and later act on to stay in God’s Power … that place in your life where you experience victory after victory regardless of your circumstances.

As you read this book, you will see that by the time I was 25 years old I had made many more BIG mistakes than most individuals have made by the time that they are twice that age.  So laugh at the stories as I now do … and your laughter will lighten your heart and help to bring you an understanding of your life’s Six Spiritual Periods.

The events that reward us in our life don’t occur all at once but rather they come together like a 500-piece puzzle that finally shows itself when we are over halfway finished and well past the point where we would tear it apart and put it back in the box. So remember the information that explains the various periods … apply it in your life and it will help you to avoid some of life’s pitfalls and to rise out of them when you find yourself struggling inside of them.

            During most of these stories, I stayed out of God’s Power until I acknowledged and confessed my shortcomings, accepted God’s Probation and yielded to His authority. Whenever I did not accept God’s authority there was no Conquest in my life and I slid into Decline and lived in Servitude. Most of the time, although I looked and felt prosperous, I wasn’t because I had turned my back on God’s blessings and favor and was just Stumbling Over A Quarter To Pick Up A Penny. While in a period of Power God revealed to me how to understand and use the knowledge of life’s Six Spiritual Periods: Probation, Preparation, Conquest, Power, Decline, and Servitude to stay in His Power or quickly return to it when I unknowingly let my life slip into Decline or fall into Servitude.
