A Pink Ribbon Journey

As I shared my feelings with my mom she tried to comfort me the best she could. I was in the bathroom crying when she came into see if she could help. All I could do was cry. I told my mom how I lost everything. I had lost my breast, my health, my vision, my body, my looks, my independence, my marriage, and now my daughter. I cried uncontrollably as I yelled out, "I have nothing! I have lost everything!" My mom tried so hard to calm me down and reassure me my life would get better, but I just kept crying. My mom became very worried because she could see I was losing control of myself. Within minutes I was laying on the bathroom floor unable to stop crying. Within minutes of that I was just screaming at the top of my lungs, "I have nothing!" And within minutes of that I was just screaming as loud as I could. I felt as though something terrible was about to happen - like I would die or go crazy. I was gripped by total fear and the only way I could relieve this was to scream. As I lay on the bathroom floor screaming out repeatedly, my mom became desperate to help me. She didn't know what to do. She begged me to let her phone and ambulance, but I refused as I screamed out, "No! If you do I will leave!" She then begged me to let her phone Dr. Thomson, but I again refused as I screamed out, "No! No way! He can't do anything to help me!" Mom tried to reassure me Dr. Thomson would help, but I continued to refuse and continued to scream. My poor mother. She was so scared and didn't know how to convince me to get medical help. She insisted I let her phone 911, but all I could do was scream, "No!" As my mom begged me to get help I hid myself in the closet in the bathroom.
