About the Book

Sherman has officially gone off the deep end, or so he thinks, when he agrees to take a wild trip on a magic carpet into the unknown with a crazy old wizard named Merlin.  The carpet hop scotches across the Earth and sets him down in a strange new land apparently countless years back in time.  Sherman quickly finds himself hunkering down in tall ferns, dodging giant dragonflies, and struggling to make friends with the local dinosaurs.  Oh my, what has Sherman gotten himself into?

About the Author

About the Author

Julie Helm is the author of several science fiction and fantasy stories.  She has belonged to writers groups and worked as an acquisitions editor for a national publishing company.   She is currently writing stories for children and juveniles because as she puts it, “There are places out there, rolling hills, deep gullies, and hidey-holes waiting to be discovered by those who aren’t afraid to stretch their imaginations and embark on exciting adventures that will enchant everyone!  And if a child can be impressed for good along the way…well, all the better.”

About the Illustrator

Debbi Cary, a native Idahoan, treasures the teachings of her parents in her youth that all things of this earth are beautiful and have worth.  An art teacher taught her to capture that beauty on paper.  Since those days she has been involved in art illustration through her professional and personal life and has found satisfaction and happiness in sharing those talents with others.  “We are all so different,” comments Debbi.  “Wouldn’t life be boring if we all had the same imaginations?  So whatever you like to do…find joy in doing it, and make it happen.”
