About the Author

The Author is president of Allen Hans & Associates, Incorporated (AHA) a Medical Device consulting firm that he founded in 1986 and during the past 23 years has successfully served over 30 companies and institutions.

His background and experience in management and engineering positions over the past 50 years focused on high technology components, devices and systems. During this period, he developed, directed and supported Quality System and Regulatory Compliance activities for a number of companies.

During a recent eight (8) year period, he directed the activities of a Medical Device company in Guadalajara, Mexico as ‘Chief of Mexican Operations’, until the company was sold.

Eight years ago, he co-developed, and currently teaches, a course in ‘Quality Systems and Standards’ as a part of a Masters Degree program, at USC, in Regulatory Science.

Prior to starting his consulting company, he was associated with companies that developed state of the art medical devices, such as implantable cardiac pacemakers, ambulatory vital signs monitors, and hospital patient monitoring systems.

His previous experience includes 12 years in the Aerospace industry in quality assurance systems, engineering and manufacturing Solar Cells and Solar Panels used in satellites and spacecraft.

He was for 6 years involved in Research & Development, and Quality Engineering in the Manufacturing of semiconductors.
