Mike and Jim were really paying attention now. They were starting to believe Freya was telling the truth about being a goddess and then an angel. How else could she know all these things about them? For an instant Mike thought she had “Googled” them on the internet, but he doubted that. Maybe she read about them when they made news discovering the Russian treasure. As all this was running through his mind, he jumped when Odin turned into a dove right before his eyes!
“Whoa! Awesome!” each exclaimed.
“Now that I have your attention, watch this,” Freya laughed. In a flash she was transformed into a beautiful deer. The boys jumped to their feet, but the deer didn't run away. For a few seconds deer and boys looked at each other and then as quickly as the doe had appeared she was gone, and Freya stood in her place.
Jimmy was the first one able to speak. “Yikes, Lady, you're either the best magician in the world, or…”
“Or I am who I said I am,” Freya finished for him.

About the Book
It's Spring vacation and Mike is taking Jim to visit his grandmother who lives on the other side of the state. It was supposed to be a few days of hanging out with Dave and Justin, Mike's friends from past visits. Instead, it turned out dangerous when they learned about a dog-fighting operation in the area from a goddess named Freya. With Dave and Justin's help, they set out to expose the people involved. Freya teaches the boys not only many truths about all animals, but she also reveals why Mike and Jim have mysteries and adventures in their lives.
