Chapter 15: Ejected but not Rejected After the fall, man was ejected from the Garden of Eden; exiled from the presence of God! Exiled means to be cast out or banished. He could not be in fellowship with God and be covered with the stains of sin at the same time. He could not share in purity and holiness while filled with selfishness and dishonesty!
But God was prepared for this! He did not plan it but He did plan for it! Because He is God, He is omniscient. That just means that He knows everything. Nothing is hidden from Him! He knew that man would surrender to sin. But He loved us so much that He would not let us remain that way. So He worked out a plan to redeem us before He had even created the heavens. He could have just as easily scrapped the whole project and started over. But because of His perfect, pure and holy love, He didn’t throw it out like the trash. Instead, He determined to carry out His gracious plan for creation; to fulfill everything He had planned from the beginning in spite of the direction mankind had chosen. God’s plan was just getting started with the work of creation. After Adam fell, the next step of a long process began that will in the end lead us back into unbroken fellowship with Him; to perfection, once again as the crown jewel of His creation; the apple of His eye!
