About the Book
Having led an interesting life with all its ups and downs I remembered that fairly early on I had realised that one had to look at the lighter side of things, as otherwise one could go round the bend. From this thought came the title to this book.
About the Author
Neville Goldrein was born in Hull where he went to school, from there to Cambridge, where he graduated at the age of 18 and then to the army where he served in Kenya and Somalia. After World War II he came back home to qualify as a solicitor. He 'put up a plate' and waited for his first client, as advertising was severely forbidden in those days, and eventually built up one of the largest legal practices in Liverpool.
He became involved in public life which took him through the local Council, the County Council and Merseyside County, of which he was the Leader.
He was one of the first solicitors in the country to be appointed a Deputy Circuit Judge to sit in the Crown and County Courts and enjoyed a visit to the Palace to receive his C.B.E. from the Queen.
He has travelled widely, not to sit on beaches but to explore what could be seen in different parts of the world.
He was helped in all this by a very like-minded and wonderful wife, Sonia, who was also his own personal doctor.
