My Brother A mentor from birth. Teaching this soft laughing jelly like thing. Imagination will be whispered into the ears of a child over and over again. Use it to escape. Night after night drawing dreams of the future that will never come. This string was cut before it was woven into the fabric of time. I pick up what’s left and learn from it. My hands talk to me coming from his same tree. It is now me that death waits for. Life is given to me for a time until my work is done. Darkness will not look at my hopes of things to come. Fight on I cry to never die in the darkness that surrounds us. Hope will be the key to our creation of one nation. Where we will feel death coming to take anyone like a brother to you or I.

About the Book
This book is an exploration into what it means to have a soul. Each illustration coincides with the poetry. I give a verbal and visual representation of the human spirit and the ways I express my own. It talks about current subjects that our culture is just discovering, like the connection between science and the human soul. Hopefully after reading it a person will feel inspired and reinvigorated with a since of hope.
About the Author
Michael David Nicholson was born in Flint, Michigan on January 28, 1977. I come from a long line of Artist mostly from England, Germany and Ireland. My brother has always been my biggest influence on my work. He was a Comic Illustrator that died at the age of 16. I always look to his example for guidance when I work. I was young when he passed away and it made a huge impact on the way I think about life itself.
