About the Book

This book is the first in a series of five books written through the eyes of Duchess, a dachshund who lives in Central Texas.  Duchess is a fun loving, mischievous, energetic, and amazing little wiener dog who is full of love and wants to introduce everyone to her friends, family and backyard friends.  This first book has Duchess showing everyone around her back yard, all the areas she checks on everyday, and her interaction with her animal friends.

About the Author

I am an animal lover with a good sense of humor and I love my pets to a fault.  Having had many dachshunds through the last several years, I enjoy the antics of this special breed and really need to have one in my life. I found a stray (dachshund) wandering on the highway near my childhood home in Temple, Texas, when I was a teenager. We lived close to that highway and didn't have a fence so my parents didn't want to keep her, but we took her in to keep her safe until we could figure out what to do. I called her "wiennie" and after a few days she escaped our garagae and I was devastated. That incident created a need and a want for me that I couldn't let go of. I became a real nag mentioning how much I wanted one and on my 16th birthday my sister gave me one as a gift. I had her for 16 years. When she passed that was half my life I had had her. She definitely left a loving impression on my heart and that of my family. I've lived in central Texas all my life and at this time we reside in Georgetown, TX. Bob and I have two children, a son and a daughter, a wonderful daughter-in-law and son-in-law and two grandchildren, Kailee and Ryan. The Adventures of a Noble Duchess will be a series with Duchess on Yard Patrol being the first. The next will be with Duchess and Kailee and Ryan. Look for them soon.
