About the Book

Swimming Day is a fun family book designed to build vocabulary and provide a better understanding of onomatopoeia. While reading, you will find examples of onomatopoeia and some vocabulary words you may not be familiar with. You hear onomatopoeia consistently on a daily basis, although you may not have known the exact terminology for the sounds. It’s a good idea to use context clues to assist you in figuring out any unfamiliar words listed in the book. A glossary is located at the end of the book to provide any further support of the vocabulary words used. Onomatopoeia: The formation or use of words such as buzz or murmur that imitate sounds associated with objects or actions they refer to.

About the Author

My purpose of writing children’s books is to capture the interests of young audiences while motivating them to become lifelong readers. My books are written with my heart, soul, knowledge and experience of a decade of teaching. My priority of constructing “Lunchroom Delight” as well as “Swimming Day”, was for educational purposes first and foremost. Intertwined throughout this book higher order vocabulary words are utilized to increase a child’s verbiage. Entertainment is valued as well to gain and maintain the reader’s interest while becoming a stimulus of one’s mind from cover to cover. I believe writing children’s books chose me. As an educator for more than a decade, I learned how children think. This has given me the upper hand on getting into the minds of our most valuable resource, children. My love of writing has manifested into an obsession.
