Bejeweled Weddings

Following the gothic theme, the reception can carry the same flair as the wedding ceremony or it can compliment the ceremony with a dramatic setting and accessories. Let the dark, rich color and ornate theme be your guide.

Reception Venue

An elegant conference room at a local hotel would be nice. However, if you are looking for a dramatic style, consider renting an old-fashioned theater with balconies, fabric walls with sconces, and room for several tables and chairs. The stage could be used for the wedding party or it could be the dance floor.

Table Setting and Accessories

Banquet chairs with red fabric cushions should surround round tables.

            If you’re using a conference room, the tables should be draped in a gold tablecloth or a white cloth with a gold or black lace overlay. Tables in the rented theater should be covered with an off-white table cloth.

            Going the route of a more traditional centerpiece, black thistle or similar flowers can be used as long as it compliments the theme of your reception.
