Two Reflections of Me The jagged mirror doesn’t lie I see two reflections in my eyes One girl is strong and has it all While the other feels like she’s going to fall Happiness, sadness Contemplation, madness To hate what you see yet try as you might To find your way back towards the light Don’t have the time to fall – I must keep going Yet all this time I’m knowing I have to take the time to truly heal In this life before I can deal I keep running from her, from what I’ve become I feel so ashamed – I long to flee from the sun God gave me a chance to make my life right Yet the shadows of my heart won’t leave my sight So many ambitions, so little time So much pressure and yet I wonder why What happened to that little girl who could do anything? I need her strength to guide me through – to come and save me! I locked it all away – the dreams of my heart While my mistakes slowly tear me apart I must learn to forgive the person who needs it the most So this flower can blossom and finally grow The only one who can create miracles is me So that my spirit can be one and finally be set free

About the Book
This book is a personal testimony of the ups and downs the author has experienced in her life from ages 20 to 25. Author of the previous book Poetry and Beyond: Life is But a Dream, Teardrops and Smiles: My Journey of Healing digs deeper into the psyche and soul of the author. Through self examination and life contemplation, this book enters into the heart of the writer.
About the Author
I have been writing nearly since I was able to speak. Once I developed a passion for learning, reading and writing shortly followed. Poetry became a rite of passage for me, a type of retreat that allowed me to express myself in ways I would have otherwise been unable to do.
I attended my first Author's and Writing workshop at the tender age of 9 through my elementary school. During the summer before my 6th grade year, I attended another Writing seminar at Wright State University to aid in my creativity.
I have published poetry through various songwriting and poetry companies, such as www.poetry.com, Colors of the Past through www.poetry.com, "Forgive" through East Coast Record Productions, and "The Song I Cannot Sing" through Chapel Recording Company.
My first book, Poetry and Beyond: Life is But a Dream, was published in 2008.
