There once was a little girl who loved to play dress up.
She would pretend to be a lot of different characters, but her favorite person to dress up as was a princess.
She would ask her mother, “Mommy, am I a princess?” and her mother would answer, “No, you are just my daughter.”
She would tell her brothers, “My real parents are a queen and king.” Her brothers would laugh and say, “You only wish you were a princess.” But deep down inside the girl longed to hear that she truly was a princess.
She would spend hours trying on different fabrics, arranging
them around herself in elaborate, fancy, ways to make herself
look as princess-like as she could imagine.

One day, she met a King. Even though she was now grown up, the King told her that He wanted to adopt her as His daughter.
He told her that he had always wanted to adopt her, and that He had been waiting her whole life for her to hear His voice and listen.
The King told her He knew how she had longed to be a princess. He told her that all she had to do to be a princess NOW, was to accept His invitation to become His adopted daughter.
Also, she had to forget all her past mistakes and forgive the people who had hurt her. Lastly, she had to live like a princess. * * *

About the Author
I am a true life princess. I am a daughter of the King of kings. I grew up in a not-so-princess-like setting. I made past choices that did not live up to or represent the Kingdom from which my royal status comes. I learned that the past can be forgiven and forgotten by my father, but that I have to forgive myself for making those mistakes, too.
I want little girls and big girls all over the world to know that it is never too late to grow into being the woman and princess, that we are born to be.
