One day he decided to take off work early. He passed many people going about their business as usual. They seemed content with the way things were and with what they had. He was thinking how nice it was to have a job like his, not having to worry about the trivial things in life. Getting off the moving sidewalk he turned the corner to get on another one heading toward his residence. Hearing a commotion he turned to see four Security Force soldiers chasing a man down the street and coming directly towards him. The man did not appear to be armed but the soldiers were shooting at him with Magneto guns. The man was very athletic as he jumped over chairs and tables on the walkway and it appeared he would beat them in a foot race. One of the soldiers transmitted from his wrist unit for more soldiers and soon there were four more coming from the other direction. When the man saw he was going to be cornered, he stopped and appeared to give up by raising his hands. Linkar watched as the man stood about a dozen feet from him, wondering what he had done. He was proud of the efficiency of the Security guards and was glad they were there to protect the population. His thoughts turned to astonishment as one of the soldiers shot the man with a direct blast that knocked him about ten feet backwards, landing about two feet in front of where Linkar was standing. Stooping down to render assistance Linkar placed his jacket under the man’s head. The man tried to talk but nothing would come out, and with a last gasp he ended the ordeal by expiring.
Linkar Daniok was not a crusader and he did not like to see anyone die. For a certainty he didn't like to see someone die this way. He looked around with an expression on his face that any one could read that said, “Why?” As the soldiers came up they pushed Linkar against a wall and demanded identification. Hastily he provided enough for them to know who he was.
One of them said, "For a minute there, we thought you were one of the Others".
"Who are the Others?"
Realizing he may have said too much, the reply from the guard in charge was a quick, "Don't mention that word again if you know what's good for you." The body was removed and everything seemed to return to normal. The crowd went about their business of day-to-day living.

About the Book
Otherworld Bound is an adventure set in the near future at a time when space travel is still a dream for Earth. Rescued by the Others, a breakaway group from Titan striving to live in peace, Greg is taken to various sites in the solar system while continuing to develop products to help people get away safe. Their only hope is to get as many as they can to some other world where they can live without tyranny. The developments they use to defend themselves prove a challenge for the alien government that is set to stop them at all costs. The intrigue and adventure of rescuing Nora Landers, Greg's romantic interest, and others from Earth proves to keep the reader anxiously waiting for the next development while the Others pursue their goal to be Otherworld Bound.

Dean Richards lives in
His first book was an autobiography about his early life up to the time he got married. It was written for his kids to help them see why genetically they had good excuse to do some of the dumb things they did.
Having been an avid reader since grade school, Richards decided to put his concepts and experience to work in letting his imagination take him to places no one has ever been.
