Journey Without End

You are now determining your destiny – the choices you make today are shaping who you will become tomorrow, good or not so good.  The Bible is full of men and women who made good and bad choices.  The consequences from those choices have extended all the way down to all of us, beginning with Eve’s bad choice in the Garden of Eden to God’s wonderful choice to send His Son to be our Savior.  Eve knew what God had said, “Thou shalt not” she even told the snake what God had said. Yet she ate the forbidden fruit, and as if that was not bad enough, she persuaded Adam to do the same thing.  Sin is not fun alone: we want someone else to be involved. When God came by Eve blamed the snake, Adam blamed Eve and so it goes today, we always want to blame someone else for our mistakes.  That makes us feel a little bit better. 

            I had a little thought here like, why was Adam so quiet?  Why did he let Eve take all the blame?  God had told Adam not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, before He created Eve? Gen. 2:16 Why didn’t he protect her from the snake?  My husband would have been right there to protect me. Especially if he knew there was food involved, he loves to eat, he says all food is good some is just better.

Have you ever thought of how many choices we have to make in a day, in a week, a year and even a lifetime.  Everything we do from brushing our teeth to where we will spend eternity requires a choice.  Some of our decisions are not all that important and we barely even think about them while others can have lasting effects on our life or even the lives of others.  Generally speaking, good choices bring good consequences and bad choices bring bad consequences.  God’s choices give eternal rewards.
