The flowers must be sad, thought Nate. When he got home he said, "Mom, should I water the flowers so they won't be sad?" "No, honey it's going to rain." Mom replied. "It's not going to rain!" Dad said. "Yes, it is, Mom said. "The weatherman said so." "AHHHH!" Dad shook his head. "He doesn't know what he's talking about. It was supposed to rain yesterday and it didn't!" "We'll see," said Mom. Nate wondered if it would ever rain again.

All five year old Nate who wants to do is wear his new dinosaur shorts. Nate's mother sends him to school in clothes that are too warm, because the weatherman says it is going to rain. He waits for the rain, but it doesn't come. He watches as his zany family argue about whether or not it is going to rain. Nate wonders who is right.
