The Flying Dutchman is a portent of doom to all that sail the seven seas. Damned in the 14^th century for the foolish oath of their Captain that they would sail until Judgement day, the only possibility for its crew to earn redemption and so be allowed to finally pass on from this world is for their cruel Captain, Vanderdecken, to gain the devotion of a young outsider and have them pledge to spend their lives aboard the ship.

It is only every twenty years that Vanderdecken may leave his ship and step on the shores and spend seven days searching for this person who will set him free. When he chooses Gail Duxx, niece and ward of renowned privateer Halzara Duxx to take back to the Dutchman with him, a catastrophic chain of events occur as Halzara and his men pursue the Damned across the sea to Cape Horn, unknowing that all of their fates are predetermined in the stars and the sacrifices they will have to make as they face the devil at sea.

About the Author

Haydon Cozens is 18 years old and has Asperger Syndrome. He has been writing the occasional bit of fiction and descriptive writing for a while. This is his first published work.

He currently lives in Ashford, Kent, with his family and spends his time working towards his A-levels and working on his second book.
