Nolan and the Magic Bridge

Once the dust settled, grandpa discovered a hidden staircase located under the fallen bridge. Nolan, always curious, began to run down the staircase before grandpa pulled him back by his hand. “Careful, Nolan,” said grandpa. “We don’t know what’s down there.” The two listened from the top of the staircase to see if they could hear anything from below. They took a few steps down and could see a door opening at the bottom of the staircase. As they crept closer, they could hear strange noises coming from the dark room. “What’s in there?” asked Nolan. “I don’t know,” said grandpa. After a minute or two, the noises stopped and Nolan and grandpa continued to walk down. As they came up to the door opening, grandpa put Nolan behind him and slowly walked into the room.

This is a children’s book that has adventure, mystery and excitement. But more importantly its about relationships and lessons forgotten. Its about a young boy, Nolan and his grandfather who while exploring through the forest come across a Magic Bridge that sends them on a path to true adventure.
About the Author
This is his first attempt at a fiction book. T.R. Mestas,MD has written papers on physicians practice and papers on physicians unhappiness within their practice. He is a physician and a graduate of the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine. He did internship and residency also at the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine. He still is practicing medicine partime in Denver Colorado. While practicing medicine he developed a concierge practice of obstetrics and gynecology and still takes care of many celebrities. In addition to medicine and writing he works as a consultant as well as serving as a board member for a charter school. He is married and has two grown children both of whom live in the Denver area with their families. He has a grandson Nolan, who he sees daily, was the inspiration for this book.
