Glancing at the clock, Brenna noticed they had only an hour before they were supposed to meet the stranger at the destination. “I’ll just have to skip breakfast today,” she thought, giving one last wistful look at the pancakes. “All right, let’s head on out,” Brenna ordered. “Aren’t we leaving a little early? I mean, we still have an hour, right?” Jay asked, confusion clouding his small face. Brenna opened her mouth to answer but just as she did, Spike stole her thoughts. “Yes, Jay, but we don’t know how long it will take us to reach our location.” Spike said the exact thing she was going to say! Could he read her mind? “Great minds think alike, I suppose,” thought Brenna. That was how it always was with Spike and her. She shot him an annoyed look, and he gave a weak smile in return, and then she headed toward the door. “Come on, everyone. We’re leaving,” she said making a quick head count. One. Two. Three. “Okay, we’re all here,” she thought, and they headed out the front door.

About the Book
We Spy -- Hi! My name is Brenna Pike. I am fifteen years old, and I live with my three siblings--Spike, Goldie, and Jay. We live by ourselves without any parents in an underground hideaway. Most kids would think that it is really cool to do whatever you want, whenever you want, but it isn’t, especially since I’m the oldest and have all the responsibilities of handling three other kids. We would be perfectly normal kids except for one small thing: We’re spies who work for a secret agency and are constantly running from danger because of another undercover organization--The Raid. It wants only to get rid of anyone working without government supervision. Of course, the government can’t know about the kind of work we do. Now that you know all the facts, you have to promise to keep this a secret. Trust me. I know what I’m talking about . . .
About the Author
Hannah Ingram wrote her first book, We Spy, when she was 12-years-old. She loves to write and hopes to create many more books in the future. She also loves to play with her favorite Jack Russell, Skippy, not to mention her two parakeets, Skylar and Clarence. Hannah plays the flute in the school band and takes harp lessons. You can often find her lounging on her bed absorbed in a book, and of course, writing remains one of her favorite pastimes.
