‘What have you found my lad, the treasure we’ve been teasing you about?’
James was standing by a walnut desk holding on to a small drawer just above the kneehole.
‘Perhaps it is, I pressed this lever underneath and the drawer opened, I told you there would be a secret drawer.’
‘That’s obviously why the so-called “experts” didn’t find it then. What have you found James?’
‘There’s a lot of screwed up paper in here Tony, it could just be rubbish, but I think there’s a box causing the jam and it looks as though it’s covered in velvet.’
James had managed to get the drawer open a few inches and when Tony shone his torch in he too could see a small box.
‘This looks interesting James, but careful does it. I’m going to slide this flat blade in and see if I can get it over the box, then I’ll press down and with you gently pulling on the drawer we should manage it.’
Breathing deeply Tony worked away, removing the blade to wrap it in his handkerchief so that it wouldn’t do any damage.
‘Are you ready to pull James? I think it’s moving. Yes, now can you pull, carefully in case I haven’t cleared it all.’
James was beside himself with excitement and pulled as gently as he could, the drawer gradually slid open and inside was a small velvet box and several papers that had caused the problem by getting rucked up under it.
James could hardly believe his eyes, although searching for “treasure” he hadn’t really thought it existed …
‘Do we open it now, or wait for the others?’
‘Let’s take it down to the operations room and surprise everyone, mind you James, it could be empty.’
‘No way Tony, it must have something in it.’
The operations room was still buzzing with the information that was being found, but Tony called out from the door for them all to gather round and see what, if anything was in the box.
‘I’d like Joanna to open it’ said James.
‘I’d love to’ and Joanna took the blue velvet case and placed it gently on the table. The case was a bit dusty, but otherwise seemed to be in good r

About the Book
Sarah finds an old photograph when clearing out her late Aunt's house. The photograph intrigues her and whilst searching for the answer as to why the photograph was hidden she helps the owners of Bridge Farm look at their history. A lavender farm is also on the site and Sarah gives up her job to become involved. As a result she finds a new life for herself, wonderful friends and a husband
About the Author
The author has written this book to achieve a lifelong ambition, and that is to get a book on library shelves. Books have been her life since the age of six when she was introduced to a public library where the librarian fostered her interests. At the age of seventeen she became an assistant librarian at a University College. The next step was marriage and a family after which she went back to library work, finished her qualifications and eventually became the Tutor Librarian in a College of Further Education. Although now retired, books are still one of her main interests.
