About the Book

Bandit, Big Black Dog Who Stole My Heart is a book about the adventures of our first year together.  Our goal is for the reader to fall in love with our wonderfut Big Black Dog, and to bring an awareness of "The Big Black Dog Syndrome" to the public.  Big Black Dogs aren't being adopted at our shelters for many reasons, such as being Big, Black, Scary, Hard to Handle, etc.  Too many are being put down, and never have a chance of finding a loving, forever home.  We want to change that!  Each chapter is a story, or an adventure we've had, from my viewpoint, and from Bandit's viewpoint.  Look for the pawprint in each chapter, and you'll live our adventures through Bandit's eyes!  Bringing Bandit into our lives has been a blessing, and a delight!  He loves hugs, and walks, and life, in general.  He loves children, other dogs, cats, and is just a joy to be around.  Our hope is that you'll fall in love with our Big Black Dog, and consider adopting your own Big Black Dog, or any dog, from your local shelter.  Give them a chance at life, and a loving forever home.

About the Author

Carol Bradshaw, her husband, Jack, Bandit, and their three cats live in Southern California.  This is Mrs. Bradshaw's first book, with the hope of many more to follow.  Owning and operating their own roofing business has kept them busy for many years, but Carol finally found the time and motivation to put her thoughts into words and into print.  Being animals lovers, a book about their Big Black Dog, Bandit, was a perfect subject.  In her research, she discovered that there is a phenomenon connected to Big Black Dogs called "The Big Black Dog Syndrome."  She wanted to bring attention to their plight, and made it her mission to bring an awareness to her readers.  As Carol began writing, she could almost hear the words come out of Bandit's mouth about what she was writing.  Since he is such a huge part of the book, she decided to give him a voice, and added his thoughts and words to each chapter.  It was a real adventure for her to get into the head of her Big Black Dog, and ultimately made the two of them even closer.  Carol, Jack and Bandit are in the process of forming a foundation to further their efforts on behalf of Big Black Dogs.  It will be called "BANDIT'S HEART," and it's goal will be to rescue Big Black Dogs, and get them trained as companion and therapy dogs, for veterans, elderly, or anyone in need, and get them into loving, forever homes.  If you can find it in your heart, rescue your own Big Black Dog, and bring Big Black Dog Hugs into your life!
