He trailed off, every word more silent than the others. He stopped. I knew the sentimental emotions were choking him. I detected he was trying strenuously to keep his tears from filling his eyes. I had never seen this side of General Trevette before. After the funerals, where he stood completely silent and motionless by my side, he left me alone with his sister to wait for my ticket to my new home. He had not said one word the entire time. I had not said a word.
After I lost my mother and baby sister, I wished General Trevette was not a well-noted general. I wished he were just an average father. A father that I could spend every moment of the day with. Yet, in this day and age, even the most average of fathers are out fighting for what they so strongly believed in.
Years passed before I received word I would be departing for my new home to live alongside General Trevette. It was through that letter I learned of the war in the colonies. What a moment to bring a daughter into the new world. I had never been witness to any sorts of blood filled wars back in London. No matter the fighting, I told my aunt to send word to General Trevette I would be joining him.
The trees around General Trevette and I stopped moving with the wind. I glanced up to a spot on the tree we stood under to notice two black and yellow butterflies fluttering through the openness. My eyes trailed down the branches when I realized we were not alone.
From behind General Trevette, I could see a rather young looking man, appearing not to be much older than I, walking towards us. His walk was so graceful; he gave the impression to be almost floating. His face was a pale white, like a new bed sheet hanging in the sun to dry. His dark brown almost black hair made him appear even more insipid. I stood breathless at the sight of him.
He reached us instantly. His eyes contacted mine, making me instantly transfixed upon him. Those liquid, blue, ocean coloured eyes made me forget my lament. The same pair of eyes from the morning. An oblique smile formed on his face. When he looked at General Trevette, our gaze broke. His long pale fingers tapped at General Trevette’s shoulder just as they had done earlier.

Growing up, Megan Inez (Megan Redgate) was a normal everyday child out to satisfy that hunger for deaprting to new worlds inside her mind. As a young child, Megan began writing various stories about her imagination trips for school assignments. When the dreamer entered Junior High, Megan's first taste of "fame" was when her writings for various compititions landed her in the top three. As Megan entered High School ,she began working on various plays, skits, and stories for the school's Drama Club. As the High School years progressed, Megan's attention went from wanting to be an actress, to a chef, to finally end at wanting to create books that captured the mind's of everyone interseted in taking a break from reality. Megan Inez designs her books with many twists and turns that keeps you guessing. You may think you know the outcome of the story, but right as the thought crosses your mind, it soon fades away as you learn the true outcome.
