Sam and Paul worked and worked on snowgirl. Finally, they were finished. Sam sat back on the sidewalk to admire their work. As he was sitting there, he noticed a spot of snow twinkling like no other spot of snow twinkled. It wasn’t far from his foot. Sam moved in for a closer look and poked it with his finger.
“A diamond!” Sam yelled with joy. “There are diamonds in the snow. I knew it!”

About the Book
Diamonds in the Snow is a story about a boy named Sam who wants nothing more than to play in the snow, but his parents think it may be too late in the evening, too wet, and too cold for Sam to play. The pull of a snowy evening can be so powerful, even Sam's parents may find the wonder of winter in the sparkling snowflakes. Once winter's magic has been cast truly wonderful things can happen like the discovery of diamonds glittering in the snow.

Erica Wells has been an Educator and Reading Specialist for 12 years. She's worked primarily with fourth grade students but began her teaching career with high school students. Writing and reading has always been part of her life. Getting lost in a good book is one of her favorite ways to spend her day. As a mother of two and a grandmother, Erica enjoys sharing children's picture books with young people in her life and helping them to find the magic in books.
