The Po’Man’s Book

I had a big apartment and a cool landlord.  I had a gang of money and a friend of drinking age.  In the eyes of a normal person this meant nothing, but living in the middle of nowhere and being an ingenious college student gives you thousands of possibilities.  I know for me that was all I needed to start my venture and we called it Thirsty Thursday’s.  It only took a year for us to make a name for ourselves.

I hit the yard rolling the next few years.  I had ideas and I was going to put them to work.  I had a goal to be the life of the party, the Hugh Heffner of the university wearing nothing but pajamas to class and with my crew behind me nothing was going to stop me.  My education became somewhat secondary because I was in pursuit of cash flow that most students didn’t have without rich family members.  I went to class but I wasn’t into my books like I should’ve been.  That could’ve been my downfall at the time but when I think back on it, class was the last thing on my mind.  Bobby, my suitemate from freshmen year, was into computer graphics and made the prints for the flyers.  Hawk and Terrance passed them out and posted them up on the yard.  Jason got out the information by word of mouth… you know his ass knew too many people; he was like a free billboard when he opened his mouth.  Mac got the DJ and he brought in some of the football players to work the door.  We gave them a little dough, but mostly
