About the Author

Rick Bobzien is a graduate from the University of Portland with a B.S. Degree in Education.  He has spent most of his life participating in sports and devoting himself to physical fitness.  His sporting/athletic experience consists of having played two years of college tennis, completing a marathon, three years of martial arts training, and years and years of weight-lifting, running, tennis, swimming, golf and more. Having this vast experience in so many different athletic endeavors coupled with having the desire to improve and the inquisitiveness to research various training philosophies and methodologies for each of these sports over the course of his 51 years, the author is very knowledgeable with respect to how the human body reacts to various activities.  Of utmost importance, the author is keenly aware of how the body reacts to caloric reduction as the author has had body weights in his adult life ranging from 154 pounds to as much as 215 pounds. Thus, from years of practical experience and endless hours of research comes the author's perspective on the nations obesity epidemic.
