About the Author

Taj Bell, a native of Detroit, Michigan is a former ballet dancer. She studied dance at Interlochen. In her teens she had the privilege of studying with Judith Jamison of the acclaimed "Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater". Taj Bell is also a talented singer songwriter, pianist and sculptor. Her sculpture work has been exhibited at An Grianán Theatre and Geraldine Hannigan's Gallery in Letterkenny, Donegal. She has donated ballerina inspired sculptures to Ballet Ireland and to the Letterkenny Children's Library. Taj Bell spent many years performing musical showcases in New York, Japan, Europe and the UK. Last year she won the support of National radio station Lyric FM with her pop jazz cover of the Undertone's classic Teenage Kicks! Taj has always been inspired by the magic of fairy lore. Her love of the creative genius of artist Brian Froud, and her passion for figure drawing comes across in this beautifully illustrated fairy book for children. Taj Bell has a unique and special gift in communicating with children of all ages. She has taught preschool, and she facilitates creative workshops for children in Donegal, Ireland where she resides with her husband Seamus.
