Family Matters When I think of my family, I’m reminded of the little foxes that spoiled the vineyards that were in bloom. Such a troublesome breed. Had I been the daughter of lions I would have seen my father lift his tail, pee on a tree, defend his turf. I would have watched my mother and aunts in fierce cooperation, returning, soaked in blood, each with a chunk of zebra in her mouth. They would find me with a planted female (too old to hunt) cuddling me in her paws, licking me free of bugs and dirt. And when I think of family, my own young existence as it was, I so envy the lions.

A Voice In The Mirror: One Woman's Biography in Free Verse and Rhyme - is a collection of narrative poems. Each poem is a short story that gives you a peek into the author’s life. About the Author
The author graduated from high school, married, had two children, divorced, graduated from BCCC in 1980, The University of Baltimore in 1997 and received a Masters in Publications Design in 1999. She began writing many years ago for my church; their reception and encouragement motivated her to write an autobiography in a collection of poems. There are sixty-one poems divided into four chapters. The poems are bold, unapologetic and honest. The author has stated that she hopes readers will enjoy her life's journey through poetry.
