For Sale by Owner

Sally Harris and her two young children parked their car at the end of the driveway at 56 Bering Road. Garage Sales were a ritual for them on weekends and Sally gave each of her two young daughters 5 crisp one dollar bills at the beginning of each week's Saturday morning search for bargains and collectable's. 5 year old Elizabeth liked to find books and games while 3 year old Shelby always brought home more stuffed animals and dolls for her collection. Sally was always searching for nic nacs for her curio cabinets and particularly like bells and puppies.

"Jean! I'm here to buy! Hope you have enough change for us big spenders!" Sally called out to the resident of 56 Bering Road. Jean had a couple of teens who were always busy with school events and Sally was always volunteering for such things so they were well acquainted with one another.

Elizabeth and Shelby went directly to the tables filled with children's toys while Sally browsed the tables with kitchen items and nic nacs. Sally figured Jean had gone inside for a potty break or cup of coffee so just continued to browse.
Suddenly she heard a scream from the back of the garage. Sally rushed over to find Elizabeth crying and pointing toward the tire swing in the back yard. Tied to the tree that held the tire swing was Jean's youngest daughter. Her innocent thirteen-year-old face was smeared with lipstick into a false clown-like smile. She had been secured to the tree with jump ropes and a long dog tie out chain. At the end of the chain remained their pet beagle lying peacefully at his owner's feet. He remained quiet because he too had been strangled.
Sally grabbed up her daughters and rushed down the driveway to her car where she began to fumble for her cell phone....

"911, Bering Heights dispatch, how can I help you?" Answered Nancy
"Please, please send someone to Jean Phillip's residence, something terrible has happened!" Screamed Sally into the phone hysterically.
"That would be on Bering Road, correct?" asked Nancy
"Please, please....please hurry"

Nancy could hear a child screaming in the background and automatically assumed an injury to the child and dispatched an ambulance from North Central. "Someone is on their way right now, can you tell me the nature of the injury or illness?"
"She's DEAD!" cried Sally "DEAD! Oh my God!"
"There is help on the way, ma’am, please stay on the phone...." directed Nancy as she reached for the radio mike to summon Sid "Patrol 2, respond to the Phillips residence on Bering Road, (Nancy was looking up the address) that will be 56 Bering Road, caller said someone is dead at that location....out"
"This is patrol 2, I copy, will this be an MVA?...out.
"Unknown, patrol 2, I have a frantic woman on the line, will try to ascertain...out"
"Copy, I am on my way....out"
