About the Author

Weldon Potter was born in Wyoming and grew up on a large ranch that straddled the Southern Wyoming-North Eastern Utah border.
He graduated from high school along with five girls. The largest graduating class the school had ever had.
After marrying, he joined the U. S. border Patrol and him and his family were sent to Southern California, where he spent three years working with illegal aliens. He was then transferred to Miami, Florida, to assist with Cuban refugees.
Not happy in Miami, he quit the Border Patrol and moved his family to the Seattle area where he was hired by the Bellevue, Washington Police Department. He served there for twenty years, advancing from Patrolman, to Patrol Sergeant, to Detective Sergeant, to Detective Lieutenant, and retiring as a Patrol Lieutenant.
It was while serving as a Detective Sergeant that he worked the Bellevue Sniper case, from which this fictionalized account was taken.
After retiring, he and his wife traveled for twelve years, living full time in a motor home while he continued to write. They now make their home in Alaska.
He has also written three other novels, as well as a large number of true short stories, fiction short stories, and poems.
