“Hostile Environments” is the secret to success for those who understand and practice “True Leadership”. This introduction to this book will stress the role “Hostile Environment’s” play in producing “True Leaders,” for their teams and organizations and why every leadershould comprehend this important point BEFORE LEADING. True Leaders face “Hostile Environments” (Challenges), while working with teams and organizations similar to the stages of human development. For example, all life form begins as a life-germ in a hostile environment (experiencing some level of STRUGGLE, challenges and opposition) before becoming developed and mature throughout life. The same goes for leaders who are involved with teams or organizations. According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, hostile and/or hostility, means marked by overt antagonism, 1: an unfriendly state or action and, 2: Overt acts of war. Environment, on the other hand, means 1: surroundings 2: the whole complex of factors (as soil, climate, and living things) that influences the form and the ability to survive of a plant or animal or ecological community. For example, before a child is born humans are first entertained as a thought; before becoming a child. Thought is said to travel on average at the terrific speed of 24-billion miles per second, according to the teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad (scientific and mathematical research). Thought, while in motion pierces through our universe covering over 76-quinsintillion miles of space before returning to the mind and/or originator of that thought, according to scientific and mathematical research. Thought, in most cases is either carried out or lies dormant and may never be acted upon by the individual who produced the thought. Ultimately my desire is that everyone who reads this book will walk away not only putting their ideas and thoughts into action, but, that they achieve their goals and objectives as a team/organization despite Hostile (or challenging) Environments commonly experienced by a “True Leader.”

About the Author
Roosevelt Muhammad, MA is an educator and experiential-based expert consultant who give challenging motivational and inspirational presentations, workshops and seminars on Leadership Development, Business Analytics, Raising the Bar on Performance, Cultural Competence and Return on Investment (ROI). In addition, he’s a Life Skills Coach. He speaks and trains on Solution Based Strategies, Diversity, Self-Renewal, Self-esteem, Pro Social Behavior, Self-Development, Human Rights, Black History, Prejudice Reduction, Wellness and Fitness, Organizational Behavior and Conference Planning. He counsels individual clients and speaks to various age groups at colleges and universities, institutions, agencies, corporate arenas businesses/high schools, adult and day care services.
