Summer is here and this is my
favourite time in Grannies
garden. She spends much more
time mowing, pruning and
weeding, which lets me
have more time with my friends. One
of my best friends was Dog, who
normally looked as if she was
just lying down chewing on a bone.
In fact Grannie told me Mummy and
my Uncle had bought her as a present
for Mother's Day. Grannie loved her
too and warned anyone who went near
her to be very careful not to break her.
Of Course, I knew different. Dog wasn't
just a Mother's Day present; she was
real and came to life when no one but
me was looking.
I was much bigger now and able to
crawl, so it made life much more
exciting for me. I could play chase and
hide- and- seek with Mummy, Daddy,
Grampa, Grannie and anyone else
who would play with me. I was
giggling and laughing and beginning to
talk. I could not speak in sentences
but was able to say Mum-mum, Dada,
and I could grunt when I wanted
something. Grownups didn't always
know what I wanted though, so I would
also point to help them.
Today was a hot sunny day and
Mummy had to go to work again, so

About the Author
The author, a Grandmother got the ideas for this book whilst keeping her Granchildren amused in her garden. She comes from a family of writers. Both her Mother and Grandfather wrote childrens books. Her Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Great Uncle illustrated and also wrote a variety of books. In this, her first book she brings to life adventures in her garden. It takes the reader through the seasons of the year and there is an adventure for every season. These adventures interspersed with some educational references will delight children from as young as 3yrs old to 12 year olds wether being read to or reading it for themselves, children will be taken on a mystical adventure. Each chapter is an adventure in itself so is ideal for bedtime reading.
