About the Book

In Britain, orphan Griffin has learned to cope with her terrible conditions. Between putting up with a tyrannical mistress and trying to keep food in her belly, Griffin has little time to better her situation. But one night the mistress locks her away and she finds her circumstances drastically changed when she is whisked away to a lost world of magic and peril. There, a powerful king has called upon her to retrieve and object of power to help him rule in his old age. With a reward in store for her, she sets out with the help of sharp-tongued Terramos, the tactful Aviar, the proud Aeros, the wise Davinus, the quirky Gossamer, and others along the way to complete this dangerous task. But as their journey progresses, many secrets are revealed and the intent of this mission may not be what it seemed. As the excursion becomes more and more arduous, Griffin becomes entangled in family secrets, loyalty, romance, danger, and betrayal as she discovers she plays a far more important role in this world than she could have possibly imagined.

About the Author

Alysia Whitney Foster first began writing as a child, beginning but never finishing at least 40 stories. She has earned many writing awards in her school and local contests. It wasn't until she was 13 that she began seriously writing her first book, Only Half. When she was 15 she decided the story couldn't be finished in just one book and decided to make it a trilogy. When she was 18 the first book was finally published. She is in the process of writing the second book of the trilogy and expects it to be completed within the year.
Alysia lives in Fort Worth, Texas with her family and 2 dogs and 3 cats. She plans on graduating college with a degree in Biology so she may become a veterinarian but continue her writing still. If her writing career takes off she plans on moving to New Zealand and continuing her writing there.
