Back The Truck

Back the Truck is my eyes, my journey and my way of making it crystal clear that I exist!   This book is a voice for those who have also been shunned from institutions (whether schools, work settings, hospitals or anywhere else) and treated less than humanly by those who were in charge.  Albeit, policy and procedure is handy for those who need guidelines and boundaries spelled out.  However, without the presence of God – a higher being or entity greater than the entire universe – we have a society that has lost all common sense.   

I struggled immensely in signing the Social Work oath.  I knew that if I were to ever pursue a career working with youth, finally doing what I thought I was called to do, then without God I would have no way of empowering them.  I would have no way of explaining how it was that I could have endured all that I did and triumphantly overcome it.  There was absolutely no way that I could explain this, without mentioning that God was with me all the way! 

I have two objectives with this book.  Firstly, I want to Back The Truck to some essential concepts. I will address the separation of Church and State and what is really meant by that, in contrast to the way society approaches it today.  Secondly, this book is an instructional manual for life, teaching our youth something that they can take with them forever on their journey.  It provides them with a vertical approach to a higher power that will speak magnitudes and trump the horizontal messages that we all hear everyday, luring us away from who we were created to be.

At some places in this book, you will probably want to say that the point I am making is just my opinion and that it's all just about me.  However, I'll then eloquently illustrate some pink elephant for your review, which will awaken your ability to hear the whisper of common sense, also known as the Holy Spirit.  This has been dormant for too long in so many of us. 

 Without common sense, we have a society that has gotten to the point of a dog chasing its tail.  The question is, who is the dog and who is the tail?  In order for true change, the powerful need to give up power and the powerless need to take up power.  Where do you fit in that imagery?  If you are powerless (such as I) to bring God back into the center of all things, you will hear that you are special.  You are someone and don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise, including yourself!

 Without dialog, issues (in any setting: family, work, politics, religious institutions to name a few) stay dormant and linger to the point that they contaminate our own innate knowledge of right from wrong.  Back the Truck is my way of saying that we need to face the pink elephants in life and address them!  We must all be part of the solution.  Ignorance can sometimes be a contributing factor in this lack of resolution, but through reading this book you will be forced to see truth.  This knowledge will force you to see how you are either part of the problem or part of the solution. 

By the time you finish reading Back the Truck, I can only hope you will know for certain where you fit in.  I hope you will know when you have maybe contributed to doing nothing and sat on the fence.  Now, having read Back the Truck, you will be moved to walk the talk with this new set of eyes you have opened your heart and soul to!   I pray that this book will make you cry, make you laugh and make you angry, but more importantly make you aware of how you personally fit into the picture for a more harmonious society.
