About the Book
Listening Day is a fantasy set in the Realm, a land of beautiful forests and deep mysteries. At one time angels protected the forests and taught the Bendigo how to walk the path of Beauty. The angels, however, withdrew from the Realm to dwell beyond the mists leaving the Bendigo to govern themselves. Fourteen year old Wylen Rashbold, disobeying his parents yet again by crossing the river Anastasis, is about to find himself pushed well beyond his limits. An unknown force sweeps through the forest, leaving him, his sister Shenna, and their adopted brother Jakk completely alone. They will be the only ones left to save Forest Rashbold and, perhaps, the Realm itself.
About the Author
David Patrick Greene is a philosopher and a theologian who chairs an academic Department of Religion at a prestigious New England boarding school where he also coaches and serves as a chaplain. David was born in Tonawanda, New York, but grew up all over Texas, not unlike his adolescent hero Robert E. Howard. Almost as soon as he learned to read he began traveling farther still, to Barsoom and Arrakis, and of course, Middle Earth. He earned his B.A. in Religion and Philosophy and later, a Ph.D. in Religion from Syracuse University and lectures on the psychology of religious violence through the Ernest Becker Foundation. He currently teaches two very popular electives on the Psychology and Theology of dreaming; and the history of fantasy from H. G. Wells to the present.
