About the Author
Author Sheri Garland York was born and raised in the beautiful Northeast Georgia Mountains in Rabun County where she still resides. She attended Rabun Gap Nacoochee High School; she received her BS degree and her Master's degree in Early Childhood from North Georgia College and State University. Sheri retired from teaching in June 2008 upon teaching 30 years for the Rabun County School System. Over half of her life has been spent teaching kindergarten through second grade children. Her biggest reward as teacher was watching a child's eyes sparkle as they began to read.

It was so rewarding watching her children grow and develop the strong bond they still share today. Sheri and her children are a very close family and enjoy spending time together as often as possible.
