Brotherhood
We stay but a very short time on this earth,
No matter how noble or lowly our birth.
Both the man in poverty and the man of wealth
Share the fervent hope for a life of health.
We have common emotions, be they anger or fear;
We laugh when we’re happy and cry with a tear.

Let's all hold the banner of brotherhood high;
May the spirit of brotherhood never die.

About the Book
Hyman Albert Goldstein wrote poetry as a hobby. This book commemorates the 100th anniversary of his birth and 18 years since his death. In Hebrew the word for 18 is chai, which also means life. The author gathers many of her father's poems to illustrate the values by which he lived and which maintained balance in his life. The collection includes poems such as a tribute to Franklin Delano Roosevelt which was placed in the archives of the United Nations as well as in the FDR Presidential Library at Hyde Park. This poem started a correspondence between Mr. Goldstein and Eleanor Roosevelt which spanned more than a decade.
About the Author
Ronnie Kopp Wiener, Ph.D., is a college counselor, marriage and family therapist, and teacher. She earned a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Counseling Psychology, doing her doctoral research on the positive aspects of multiple roles for women. She conducts workshops for college and community groups, as well as government and corporate groups, on such topics as creating a balanced life, managing stress, practicing mindfulness, building and maintaining self-esteem, developing communication skills, and dealing with clutter.
She is a regular participant in workshops at a prominent holistic center in the northeastern
She has studied mindfulness practices under world-renowned Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., for peace efforts during the Vietnam War.
