"...It seems there was a witch doctor and about twenty of his henchmen in the town. The henchmen were dressed in a costume similar to our Spiderman costume, but made from a tan/orange burlap. The witch doctor's costume was the same, only he had a hairy fringe from head to toe. The henchmen had log bamboo sticks and were making everyone sit down in the presence of the witch doctor. I was leaning my head out the car windows, clapping my hands and saying "Jesus! Jesus!" One of the henchmen came over to the van and hit at my window with the bamboo pole. I jerked my head back just in time.
The witch doctor saw Mike and Nicolai. He ran to a car they were standing near and jumped on top. He then lay down on the roof on his back with his legs and arms thrashing in the air like a dying bug. Mike stood there with his arms raised, proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord. Mike and Nicolai got back into the vans and drove a little further down the road and into a gas station. We thought it was all over, but the witch doctor wasn't through with us. When we left the gas station, on the road out of town there were all these people with the witch doctor and his henchmen. Two henchmen stood, one on each side of the road, with a rope stretched across our path..."

About the Book
Mrs. Dalley's book is the kind of reading you can't put off until later. After she retired, she was called by God into the mission field, and her writing puts you in the field with her. You share her tears, her joys, her faith, and the laughter. Alene traveled the world, but not to the usual comfortable tourist locations the countries had to offer. She ventured into the lives of the common people where she might share the love of Jesus and provide hope where there was despair. She shared their simple lives, often sleeping in her bag on the ground or a cot, and giving up the comforts we take for granted. She was confronted by obstacles which only prayer could overcome. If you've ever considered serving God in a similar manner, this is the book for you.
Alene Dalley writes, "There are many different types of mission trips. There are also many different kinds of accomodations. For those of you who are not as adventurous or like the comforts of home, there are mission trips for you, too. The stories in this book are true experiences on the mission field. About the Author
My all consuming passion is to go into countries where people have never heard of the Lord Jesus. I love introducing people to the Bible and giving them the plan of salvation. When they come to the knowledge of Jesus and accept Jesus as Savior, God fills me with such elation. I am never happier than when I am on a mission trip telling people about Jesus.
My husband of 54 years, Mac, is a good Christian man. We have two great sons, two wonderful daughters-in-law, and five grown grandchildren. Mac and I both love to fly. We used to go to Hobby airport before Houston Intercontinental was built and we would watch the planes. We started taking flying lessons and both became licensed pilots. We fly single engine land planes such as Cessnas and Pipers.
We had moved from Oklahoma to Houston, Texas after we were married, where we raised our children. Mac worked at a chemical plant and I started working as a teller for a financial institution. I retired years later as vice-president.
Upon retirement, we moved to a wonderful community on Lake Livingston. Our home overlooks a golf course lake with an overview of flowers, wild life and fishermen. We seem them through the bay windows of our home creating peaceful tranquility.
