About the Author
Mavis Eakle Williams (1922-2008) lived in northern Illinois, where she adored and embraced the wonders of the prairie. The creatures of the earth and the beauty of the landscape fascinated her. As a nurturing and insightful teacher, writer, wife, mother and grandmother, she chronicled and shared many noteworthy moments.
