ssshhhhhiiiioooooooo….BOOM! That was a rocket. I watched (it seemed as if it was in slow motion) calmly as the rocket zoomed over my head at approximately two hundred feet off the ground. I continued to watch as it exploded a hundred and fifty meters directly in front of me. I knew what to do this time…I knew the direction of travel, the type of round, the distance, and the approximate spot the next one would land. So, I went the other way and ducked down low behind a military container in a parking area, down on the ground…and waited. The second rocket fired…and impacted in almost the exact same spot.

About the Book
A fifteen month account of a soldier and his team of battle buddies in intense combat in Iraq. The story spans the initial training to the final battles in Sadr City Iraq prior to redeployment in mid 2008. Referred to as the "tip of the spear" in the war on terror and the current situation in the middle east military transition teams are the last hope for Iraq's security situation.

The author is married to a loving and understanding wife and has three beautiful children. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration from North Central University in Arizona. When he is not writing for his school projects he can be found in his garage restoring his 1975 MGB convertible.
