About the Author

Margaret Flynn, a Brooklyn native of Bath Beach has published research on the language of Brooklyn (Brooklynese). She provides an up close insight into the everyday life of organized crime.

    Margaret has appeared on national television and radio networks, and on the BBC discussing Brooklyn and its language. Her interviews with the Associated Press have appeared nationwide and in Europe.

       Arlene Scollar, co-author, started golf at the age of seven. She won her first club championship at the age of nineteen at Grosse Ile, Michigan. Arlene was on the first women’s golf team at the University of Michigan. After graduating with a degree in Journalism, she taught in the public school system.

     Arlene has been Staten Island, New York Amateur Champion three times as well as club champion at several Staten Island courses.
