Did the Bible (the Torah and the Gospel) undergo alteration or not?
Christian: you say you believe in the torah, the Gospel, as well as, the Quraan as revelations of God. Yet you believe, all the same, that both the Torah and the Gospel were altered, but the Quraan was not altered and shall never undergo change till the Day of Judgment. Don’t you think that this is rather strange and unacceptable? Because if God did inspire such books he should reserve them all or does he discriminates between his own books?
Muslim: God reserved the Quraan and undertaken reserving it for it is the last message from heavens to earth with the last messenger. Shall it be altered; there shall not be strong evidence on the existence of God so it must be reserved. But I think that continuing the conversation in such a manner shall not result in good outcomes. for after all these are just opinions but we need to base these opinions upon scientific evidences.
Christian: I shall accept your diplomatic avoidance for my question and I am waiting for the way you prefer.
Muslim: you believe that both the Torah and the Gospel are of God’s revelation, but you do not believe that the Quraan is also a revelation.
Christian: yes.
Muslim: but there are many common stories between the Quraan, Torah, and the Gospel, and how could someone like Muhammad (PBUH) who does not read or write know such stories, for He was illiterate?
Christian: it is not such a difficult thing, the stories of the Torah and the Gospel were repeated amongst people and they were spread throughout the world, so it is not that difficult for Muhammad to tell us about these stories and he can add some other things from his community then say that this is all an revelation.
Muslim: the Bible was not translated into Arabic by then, for there was not any Arabic Bible in the 6th century A.D, so how could He have known details of such stories; e.g. the stories of Adam, Joseph and Noah, etc.., as He was illiterate as I have told you.
Christian: as I have said it is not such a difficult or a miraculous thing, for he does not need an Arabic Bible to steal from. Everyone repeats these stories as they hear and memorize them. Remember that his wife Khadija had an uncle who studied the Bible and after well education he claimed prophethood and the Quraan is God’s revelation.
Muslim: you are telling me that He had some sort of computer memory that stores and memorizes everything that He hears although Mecca was atheist and not Christian. As for His wife’s uncle Warqa Ibn Nawfel he believed the prophet and never denied what he said. Or you might be trying to convince me that Muhammad (PBUH) had a devil as His companion to tell Him such stories and if so I should doubt the Bible as well, for it might has come by the aid of the devil for both Moses(PBUH) and Jesus(PBUH)! This is funny God would never leave us to be a puppet in the hands of the devil.
Christian: I guess we are back once again to opinions not based upon scientific evidence as you first wanted.
Muslim: what do you think about reading and comparing two common stories from the Bible and the Quraan; for if Muhammad (PBUH) did steal them, as you say, there shall be evidence against His lies. For each criminal leaves proof of his crime.
Christian: that is a go
