About the Book

Haiku For You is an inspirational book for children of all ages.  The workbook is illustrated with the author's fine art photography which will assist the child in penning a variety of Haiku.

As an educator/college professor the author knows the value of creating an educational text that engages the reader and writer.  In addition to learning the craft of Haiku, the writer is engaged in learning about one room school house history.  This book contains authentic photos of children who attended one room school houses in Michigan and one in Rhode Island.  A few of the other photos represent one room school houses from other parts of the United States.  These photographs illustrate what the children and the teachers looked like in the 1800's and through the turn of the century.  These pictures showcase what the different one room school houses looked like back then.  Writing about history is an important aspect of crafting Haiku.

Her photographs capture the essence of the historic one room school houses that are still in use.  Some of the one room schoolhouses are used to teach children today, while others are home to area museums which you can visit as well.

Your child can be encouraged to develop a love for the written word and enable him or her to write Haiku effectively.  This is something a student can do each day for fun too!

The author is an award winning poet, photographer, and honors faculty member.  She began writing at the tender age of eight when she started crafting short stories.  Her love for writing poetry and Haiku became an intergral part of her life after that.

Haiku For You is an inspirational journey for all who love to write.
