Deefa dived at the rat and sending it crashing into the side of the train, it's body exploded into a hundred rats. Luke froze on the spot, the rats jumped on him sending him to the ground, within seconds he was swamped with them, he hit out with the branch, knocking them off him but there were too many, he was unable to breathe, they started to bite and gorge on him.
Deefa grabbed the rats off his face, biting them in half as he flung them aside, he opened his wings using them to knock the rats off Luke's body, Deefa managed to put his nose onto Luke's face and snorted on him. Luke struggles for the horn, as Deefa picked off the rats, he put it to his lips and blew as hard as he could. He could hear no noise but Deefa fell backwards and drew his wings up tight around his head. The rats fell off him, he fumbled to his knees and blew on the horn again, he could hear Deefa whimper and the wings closed tigher around his head, the sound was hurting him.
The rats squeaked and began to explode one by one they burst open, blood and gore everywhere.

About the Book
A key to the underworld has been uncovered and must be destroyed. The only man who knows where it is hidden is in a coma after fighting with demons.
His young son Luke, sets out on a mission to save his father and to find the key. Only one other knows where the key is hidden and that's his pet German Shepherd Dog DEEFA.
Luke's adventure turns into a demon fighting quest, each one more bloodthirsty and frightening than the last. How much horror and pain can a boy go through to save his father?

A work colleague told me today (30/9/08) that after reading this book, she showed it to her ten year old son and suggested that he should have a look at it because he might enjoy it. I was then informed that he does not like reading and she has a lot of trouble trying to get him to read, it is a subject that he is poor at and has difficulties with. She was please to tell me that he is already half way through it and enjoying it. Could I get a better compliment then that!!!! The Deefa Stories have all been wrote from the suggestions of what the children themselves want to read and not what we adults think they should read.
