"You asked for it," Chase yelled as he reached over, lifted her out of her saddle, and pinned her face down across his lap. He had her now, he thought. Her scream filled the hollowed draw, no one could hear her out here, except him. "Go ahead and scream," he told her as he turned his mount back toward the line shack slowing to a trot. "Go ahead and scream if you want. It won't help you. I said you're goin' back with me, and that's final!. So, quit your squirmin'" He had all he could handle just tryin' to hang onto her. "If you don't stop squirmin' and settle down, I'm gonna paddle you!"
Hanging upside-down as she was, and screamin' at him for this, she didn't really think he'd do it. "You wouldn't dare! Pa's gonna be madder than a -"
Chase rudely cut off her litany of words. "I doubt it, I seriously doubt it. He'd probably help!"

An Air Force dependant most of her life, there is a lot more to author Nicki Bowles that you would think. Born a descendant of the Daughters of the Confederacy, Chapter 6 of Texas, and raised by an Air Force Pilot/Engineer and an Interior Decorator / Columnist Writer she has moved around this country quite a bit. She is a single Mother of three grown children and a Grandmother of two - so far! Also, she is a female Truck Driver, Artist, Printmaker, Photographer, Ceramist, and Writer; therefore she tries to stay busy!
