About the Author

St Asaph-born solicitor Andrew Foley Jones is a bit of a multi-tasker. If he’s not strutting his legal stuff throughout North Wales and the North West for law firm Mackenzie Jones (in which he is a partner), he’s running around playing sports or painting canvasses in his Chester home. As if all that wasn’t enough, he’s now revealed that he’s been writing a novel, Seductive Amoebae, during the small hours while the rest of us were fast asleep.

The book began as a collection of short stories when Andrew was studying Law at the University of Liverpool. Developing his ideas during travels throughout North America, Greece and Asia, he eventually realised there was a potential novel to be found in his handwritten manuscript. Studying law and training as a solicitor interrupted Andrew’s writing but, keen to pursue his ambition of completing the novel, he found the solution in rising early and writing from 5am till 7am.

Keen also to pursue a legal career, Andrew put the novel on hold and was made a partner at just 29. The break from writing was short-lived, however, and he was soon back to his secretive early morning pre-work routine; something none of his peers were aware of. Much of the final writing of Seductive Amoebae was done at Andrew’s Chester home and during travels throughout Europe and Asia, and the book was finally completed at the end of 2008.
