Takeover

CHAPTER TWO Early in the afternoon, an unknown signal comes into the space exploration committee. One of the scientist on duty walks over wondering if it’s just another false reading again. After she runs the data and sees that it’s coming from a dead galaxy called G-3020. She puts the data away thinking that it’s nothing, since they already explored every planet in that galaxy. They found no source of life or any planets that could support life. A few minutes pasted and the same signal comes in. she grabs the data and takes it back to her desk and checked her measurements again. Maybe she had made a mistake with the first one, she sees that it’s the same signal that is coming from the dead planet. Her supervisor comes back from lunch, and she walks into his office and hands him both pieces of the data that came in and tells him what happened when he was on lunch. He grabs the paper and looks over the data and did his own measurements. He looks up at her and just says “this can’t be right“. She just looked back at him and didn’t know how it could be possible either. The two of them quickly call up to Torfor the head of the Space Exploration Committee. Torfor just said to them “I’ll be down and check on things and this better not be some more space debris like the last few times“. After an hour pasted he finally walked into the monitoring room of the Space Exploration Committee building. He just all kinds of alarms going off, and everyone was just running around and collecting data. Torfor stood in the doorway smiling. “It all starts today” he says One of the scientist just ask him what he was talking about. Torfor just says “everyone will find out soon enough, and long live The Ruler“. The scientist just walks away from him thinking he is just going crazy. The team that was collecting the data went and presented it all to Torfor, who was still standing in the doorway. The data that was looked at by all the scientist in the room, confirmed everything in the measurements was right. Torfor grabbed the data and went back to his office, where he placed the paper down on his desk. He then walked over to the window and looked out the window of his fifteenth floor office. He just stood there smiling and just said to himself that “I’ll soon have my revenge on King Allawen for passing me over for the commander of the recovery agents“. He walked away from the window and sat down at his desk and started to make up the crew that would go to the planet. He knew that his son a sergeant in the military and his group of soldiers were going, because they have been trained to follow Torfors path of revenge and he also could tell the king they would make a great security team. The only regrets that Torfor has is that he couldn’t turn the whole entire Space Committee. He had only a few on his side so naturally he put them on his side. A women named Jogen who has military training and is a skilled fighter was put on the ship in hopes that she could be turned. The fact that that she was hand picked by the king to go and work for the recovery agents, but chose to come and work as a communication expert with the committee instead. Torfor knows that she would be instrumental in his allegiance. He made his choices on who would go on this mission, of course he still wishes that he could send more people from his allegiance. He knows that most of the people on the space committee is loyal to the king and queen and he didn’t want to take the chance of people finding out what he was planning. He called up the king and queen and told them that he had discovered a signal from another P-1095. The king just stopped him right there and told him “that planet has no life at all on it and he should let this mission go“. Torfor just reassured the king that they kept receiving the same signal over and over again. Then I had Jogen work on the system and she recalibrated the computers, and the signals just kept coming in. the king paused for a minute and he still thinks that something is wrong with the whole thing. Seeing the look on the kings face and thinking that he would say no to the mission Torfor walked away from the monitor and then he thought of something. He then got back in front of the monitor and said “what if this is another planets ship stuck and it’s sending out a distress beacon hoping someone will help them out“. Torfor also had to mention the good will we have with this planets home world and a chance to discover life on another world. Hearing that the king said “it might be a good idea to send the recovery agents out there, and pick up the ship and it’s crew and bring them back here“. Torfor just walked away from the monitor again and just threw his arms up in the air and just wondered what he could do, to get his own crew to the planet. He just glanced at the calendar and realize that the king as a birthday coming up soon. He got back in front of the monitor but before he could say anything the queen ask if he was ok since he keeps leaving the call. He just says “I have a little cold and need to blow my nose but I’m fine“. Torfor just said “with the kings birthday coming up, I know you would like to have your son the recovery agents commander and the rest of the agents there for your birthday“.
