About the Book

You take something or someone that isn't yours, and then convince yourself that God had a hand in it.  God surely had a hand in it, otherwise it would be too terrible to justify the act.

This is Anna's declaration after she takes a helpless infant from her carriage and delivers the child to her own sterile daughter.

Oh, be careful who you steal from.  The wrath of a bipolar mother will set a stage of murder, mayhem and revenge, and will teach each of us a valuable lesson.

Don't take what isn't yours.  Paybacks are a bitch!

An unpremeditated act of love will place Anna and her family as pawns in a horrific game of cat and mouse.  It will be a game of no winners.

Propelled by suspense and a cast of unforgettable characters; each seeking approval from someone else, TAKEN will grab you in the first chapter and grip you through the final page.

About the Author

Must an author have standard credentials?  Would the public be accepting of an active imagination that stirs stories like a complex, fragrant sauce?  Would they acknowledge an imagination that sets atop a head constantly dreaming and scheming, but seldom taking the time to put the story to pen?  Dear readers, if its credentials you crave, click to the next author.

Julie Garland is my married name, my THIRD married name.  As it might imply, I've been busy in relationships, building them and at times tearing them down.  The first marriage blessed me with two children Jeff and Angie.  Now grown, they have blessed me again with four grandchildren; the eldest boy graduating high school this year.  It has occurred to me that time is marching on faster than ever, and I've barely started my "Bucket List."

I've always wanted to write, or compose a book. I see myself as an author.  I envision myself writing many books and having a robust following.  I love how the words just spill out.  At times it's as if the story writes itself, and I am simply the pen.

Take a chance.  Live life on the wild side!  Try reading words that pelt themselves out of anxious non-assuming fingertips.  This is my first attempt, and I promise it won't be my last.  So come, slip into your comfy chair, freshen your drink of choice, and let's begin.
