James stared at the letter he had written with a mixture of horror and fascination. He often joked that the pen took on a life of its own, channelling something from deep within, but he had almost no memory of writing the words before him. This was the third time it had happened and he couldn’t ignore it any longer. Each time he sat down to write his article, a letter fell onto the page, each one addressed to Laura. James had the feeling he was being used as a vessel. It was a strange notion but he couldn’t get it out of his head. He still had the other letters; he never discarded anything he wrote. What he needed was another opinion. He had a lunch date with his sister in two days and she would know exactly what to do.

About the Author
Melissa Barker-Simpson is a single mother, with two small children who keep her on her toes. They are the most challenging, yet rewarding part of her life, and she is constantly amazed by them.
She has a passion for language - although she writes as often as possible, her full time role is that of a British Sign Language/English Interpreter.
In her working life, she is the editor of a quarterly magazine run by her professional organisation, as well as the chair of a working group, administering a continual professional development programme.
